I have this idea for a new reality TV show. It's kind of like The Simple Life, the one where they take the New York socialites and put them on a farm in the country. This new show takes a beach bum from California and puts him in a condo in the Middle East. I don't have a name yet, but I'm pitching it to MTV as The Real World: Kuwait.
Picture this: One lucky contestant will be flown from his home in San Diego to a high-rise apartment in Kuwait City. There, he'll have to survive such challenges as poisonous scorpions, intense heat, and an entire nation that doesn't serve beer.
--No alcohol!
--No pornography!
--No pork!
Can our contestant survive a whole year in the Middle East? If he wants the $100,000 grand prize, he have to get through The Real World: Kuwait!
That's me: living in San Diego, enjoying the relaxed beach-head lifestyle. Sand between my toes, all day long.
Six weeks ago, I received a job offer from ITT Industries, Systems Division, Middle East Office. They want me to run the computer network at a US base south of Kuwait City.
Three weeks from today, I fly out to Kuwait. I've never traveled to the Middle East before, and now I'm going to live there for 12 months. Even after reading thousands of pages and exchanging dozens of e-mails with ex-pats in the Mideast, I still don't know what to expect. I'll use this journal to record my experiences and share them with the rest of the world. I'll post a few more thoughts from San Diego in the next few weeks. Then, from August 15 of this year to August 15 of the next, I'll give you my impressions of Kuwait.
Hope you have your arm a gilr or at least a Surf board! Good Luck Mike! See you in a Year! Remember, your right hand is for eating and your left.....?

I win.
They tricked me.
I calculated. I get 2 mill, then perhaps I can buy my sanity back.
A Las Angelena
Cute post. But, it's all an illusion. Nothing is real here.
(clicks ruby red shoes, closes eyes and mutters)
"I want to go home"
3 times for effect.
Cheers!

Have you ever been to Lebanon by any chance? Trying to find out information about skiing there. Random, I know, but thanks.
