--The best Lebanese restaurant, and the best Greek, Italian, and Jordanian restaurants, too.

Greek: Zorba
Italian: Ricardo at the Sheraton

--A rock-climbing center in Kuwait.
dont think there is one

--The best water park in Kuwait.
The water park near the Kuwait Towers

--The best electronics store in Kuwait.
You got Eureka for the selection choice, but their prices are high, good place to check things out then goto the agent and get it cheaper.

--The best music school in Kuwait. For learning piano technique and for learning basic theory of Arab music.
Bayt Lothan, its just next to Marina Mall on the right side the small building. They do courses there.

--Any place where I can find English-language theater.
There is this one in Ahmadi, Kuwaits Little Theater I believe is the name.

--Any live music venue--jazz clubs, symphonies, public dances, and so on.
Bunch of those go around, Bayt Lothan has a selction of stuff, and there are always some going around but you dont hear about them until they are over.

Also Check out www.kuwiki.org is Kuwaits Wiki page so you can add what ever you find there, and find some other stuff that people posted.

Language center: A lot of people like Berlitz in Bneid al Gar but I've never been so I can't say. If you want to improve your Spanish, you could start by watching the satellite channels from Spain.

Best Lebanese Restaurant: Al-Berdawny (don't know if I spelled it right) but it's off Gulf Road in Salmiya. Awesome mezza (appetizers) and freshly baked pita bread.

Best Greek Restaurant: None. Zorba is crap, not even close to real Greek food.

Best Italian: La Piazza was good back in the day when they had an Italian chef but I don't believe their replacement has arrived yet. For authentic Italian pizza, try Pizza Express.

Electronics: I like Eureka in Shuwaikh and don't find it that expensive at all. Especially if you pay cash, you get something like 10% off. Plus it has underground parking and isn't crowded.

Music lessons and theater: I agree with Nibaq.

Live music venue: La Piazza used to have a duo on Thursdays. Pomodoros used to have a live Cuban band on weekends. Also, Ole-Kuwait (Spanish speaking womens organization) puts on co-ed dances open to the public. They usually have a DJ (salsa, merengue, pop, r&b, arab music), buffet, dancing, etc. There's also a couple of people who put on some nice parties with themes every other month or so. Their last party had women dressed in red and men dressed in black.

Hope I helped. =)

-Best Language school

Berlitz is the best as far I know (http://www.berlitz.com/local/kuwait/. They have small classes of 5-7 students but really expensive if you want to go for private lessons. I asked about Russian private lessons, it costs KD330 for 24 lessons. Cheaper courses at Kuwait University for KD60, the courses will start second week of March. But I don't the quality of classes at Kuwait Univ.

-Best Greek restuarant

Zorba sucks. I really hate that place. My Greek friend tried their food and nothing is really Greek. Don't go!!

- A Rock-Climbing center

My brother used to go to this gym where they have some section for rock climbing.. hmm I don't remember what's called... I will check with my brother later

Best Arabic school for foreigners is an office environment. There is no quick fix to picking up a foreign language and unless you are thrown in at the deep end where you have no choice but to think in Arabic, you are never going to be at total ease with the language. Despair not, Mr Corrin- encourage co-workers to talk to you in Arabic and try responding to them in Arabic as well. You will be amazed how quickly you develop a working knowledge of Arabic.

Spanish in Q8 : dunno. Me thinks it may even be worthwhile touching base with a Spanish tutor at the Phillipines International School in Fahaheel for private tuition.

On food etc.
Zorba's; the supposedly Greek place : comme ci, comme ca.
Lebanese: You can't go wrong with Le Tarbouche
@ the Sheraton or Mais Alghanim.
Jordanian: As far as I can tell you would need a trained chef to flag the nuances of Jordanian food as opposed to the rest of Arabic food.
Baba Taher (opp. Arraya Mall) is the Persian place for grub in Kuwait.

As an addendum and also to keep this thread alive, if I may I should like to know:

1) Are there any serious takers for a book club in Kuwait, if none exists already?

2) Whom can I network with in order to be part of a Laughter Club in Kuwait?

3) Does KNCC screen arty films and foreign feature films other than those in English and regional Indian languages?
Merci beaucoup

Reverse Osmosis

Where to go,or, rather to not go for home delivered groceries in Kuwait?

Is there a concept of movie restaurants, yet in Kuwait and if yes, whereabouts are they ?

Does Kuwait not have a drive-in cinema any longer?

Are there any bingo nights in town?
